SCAMMER ALERT!
OVER A DOZEN PEOPLEHAVE BEEN SCAMMED OUT OF SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF MONEY BEFORE, AND SOMETIMES AFTER, CONTACTING US FOR A SIBERIAN KITTEN. BE SUSPICIOUS!
There are only 3 registered breeders of Siberian cats in South Africa. ArteKatz Siberians was the first one, established in 2011, and then there is Uzuri Siberians and Cobaltorino Siberians. All three breeders are registered with one or more of the 3 official cat bodies in South Africa:
1. Southern African Cat Council – website 2. Cat Federation of Southern Africa – website 3. Cat Association of Southern Africa – website
Never trust a breeder that you do not find registered with one of these bodies for the breed you are looking for, or that sell more than 3 different breeds of cats.
EVERYONE ELSE SELLING A SIBERIAN KITTEN IS A SCAMMER!
REASONS PEOPLE GET SCAMMED
Time pressure to get a kitten You can be lucky if a kitten is available, but generally there is a waiting list of several months
Price too high – looking for a bargain There are no Siberian kittens for under R10.000, if you find one, IT’S A SCAM
Not enough due diligence/ or street smarts Always TALK to the breeder, view their cattery physically or via live video (WhatsApp works fine) and NEVER agree to pick up a kitten other than from the breeder, the airport or from an established pet transporter
Always check Hellopeter.com if in doubt
Several of our customers that got scammed later found out the scammers were already listed with Hellopeter, search this link
